LIGIA KEȘIȘIAN (Romania)
LIGIA KEȘIȘIAN (b. 1988, Piatra-Neamț) is a poet and translator, a member of PEN Club Romania. She made her debut with the poetry volume Mici cutremure (Charmides Publishing, 2017), followed by Miss Houdini (Charmides Publishing, 2019). Her most recent book, Anul tigrului de apă / The Year of the Water Tiger, was published in 2023 by Max Blecher Publishing House. In 2023, she was awarded the Young Writer of the Year award at the Gala of Young Writers, the ARCCA Award for Best Poetry Volume, and the Award for Best Poetry Book at the National Poetry Festival “Nicolae Labiș.” Anul tigrului de apă was also nominated for the Awards of the magazine Observator Cultural, the Universitas Observator Awards, Bac-Fest, and Zona9 Poetry. In 2024, Ligia received the Contrasens residency in Timișoara, and in 2025, she won the Cărturești Scholarship and Residency for Poetry. Selections from her poems have been translated into French, Hungarian, Italian, Greek, and English, and published in numerous magazines and anthologies. She has had readings and performances at festivals such as FILIT, Poezia e la Bistrița, the Bucharest International Poetry Festival, the Romanian Literature Days in Chișinău, Jazz TM – Strada Fără Nume, Swords, and others.
