ION POP (b. 1941). Professor emeritus, “Babeş-Bolyai” University Cluj-Napoca, literary critic and historian, poet. Associate assistant at the Université de la Sorbonne Nouvelle-Paris 3 (1973-1976), director of the Romanian Cultural Center in Paris (1990-1993). Corresponding member of the Romanian Academy. Monographic studies on the poets Lucian Blaga, Ilarie Voronca, Nichita Stănescu, Gellu Naum, The Game of Poetry (1985), Avant-garde in Romanian Literature (1990), Neomodernist Romanian Poetry (2018). Ten volumes of poetry, including: Late Grammar (1975), General Postponement (1990), Elegies on the Offensive (2003), Facing the Sea (2011), The House of Stairs (2015), The Waiting List (2019).
