Gelu Vlașin (Romania)

GELU VLAȘIN was born in Telciu, Bistrita – Năsăud. He made his debut in the magazine România literară (1999) with an introduction by Nicolae Manolescu and his editorial debut was with the volume of verses Tratat la Psihiatrie (Vinea Publishing House, 1999). His poetry has been translated and published in the USA, Canada, Spain, Germany, France, Italy, Russia, Morocco, Argentina, Mexico, Australia, South Korea, Hungary, Tunisia, Colombia, Slovakia and Israel. In 2012 he was decorated by the President of Romania with the Order of Cultural Merit in the Grade of Knight and in 2013 he received the title of Honorary Citizen of Telciu (Bistrita – Năsăud). He has 16 national and international literary awards. In the fall of 2020, he represented Romania at the International Poetry Festival in Medellin (Colombia) and in 2022 he received the Bistrița Municipality Award (culture section).
