Eva POTIGUARA (Brazil)

Eva POTIGUARA belongs to the Potiguara Sagi Jacu people, from Baía Formosa (RN), Brazil. She holds a degree in Visual Arts and earned both her Master’s and Doctorate in Education from The Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte. A professor and researcher, she also works as a cultural producer, writer, illustrator, storyteller, and national coordinator of Mulherio das Letras Indígenas. She is a member of various literary institutions and academies of letters in both Brazil and Portugal. Her published works include children’s books, poetry, academic texts, and novels, with editions released in Brazil and Portugal. In 2023, she received the Jabuti Award in the “Promotion of Reading” category and the “Carolina Maria de Jesus Women’s Literature Award” from the Brazilian Ministry of Culture, in the Novel category.
