ADRIAN NAIDIN (Romania)

Born on April 23, 1974, in Cluj, ADRIAN NAIDIN attended the “Sigismund Toduță” Music High School, in the class of teacher Gabriela Todor, who played an important role in his formation as a cellist. He graduated from the “Gheorghe Dima” Music Academy in Cluj Napoca, Cello and Chamber Music department. He studied privately with Mischa Maisky, nicknamed the “Paganini of the cello”. In 1987 and 1990 he won the 3rd Prize at the “National Music Olympics”. In 1997 he won the 2nd Prize at the “National Musical Interpretation Competition” and the 2nd Prize for chamber music at the “Reichenau International Competition”, which took place in Austria. He made his debut in 1998, as an instrumental artist at the Cluj Napoca Opera. In 2001 he became a member of the National Radio Orchestra in Bucharest.

Between 2000 and 2003 he was a collaborator at the National Theatre in Bucharest for theatre music. Adrian Naidin is a complete musician, expressing himself in jazz, classical music, rock and traditional music. He has given concerts in the country and abroad. In 2010, at the Radio Hall, he presented a concert with his own compositions, entitled “Let’s Vibe”. He was accompanied by the National Radio Orchestra, conductor Jin Wang, and soloist Alexandru Tomescu (violin). He collaborated with the American musician Moby and the Romanian pianist Raul Kusak for the soundtrack of the film The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman.
