Iria FARIÑAS (Spain)

Iria FARIÑAS (b.1996) writes, performs, and studies Philosophy. She has published several poetry collections and three short story books, the most recent being Where Risk Beats (Piezas Azules), Crossing a Drop with a Needle (Urdimbre), and Snow Rises in Captivity (Valparaíso). She won the Incendiario Poetry Prize with Who Extracted the Bone (L’ecume) and the Mislata Short Literature Prize (2023). Finalist for awards such as IASA, Valparaíso, Marpoética, Loewe, Irreconciliables (2022), the Zenda competitions, and winner of the Energheia Prize for short fiction (2024). Her work has appeared in anthologies and magazines including Quimera, Caracol nocturno, Zéjel, Digo Palabra Txt, La gran belleza. She has participated in festivals such as Vociferio, Marpoética, Young Poetry Festival of Alcalá, and Eñe. Her performance drop – mirror – hinge won Alacant a escena and was selected for the WeNow Awards. She has appeared in Vudú (3318) and Angélica Liddell’s Blixen, and collaborates with Poscultura, Contrapunto, and Altavoz Cultural.
