NADIA TROHIN (Romania)

NADIA TROHIN was born in Chisinau, where she graduated from the “Ștefan Neaga” National College of Music, majoring in piano. She completed her Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD studies in Bucharest, at the National University of Music. She made her jazz debut in 2010 when she won the “Best Band” award with the band “Nadia & Friends” at the “Târgu Mureș Jazz Festival”.

In 2011, she began collaborating with pianist Mircea Tiberian, with whom she recorded the CD called “La margine de București”. Since then, her artistic activity has included numerous appearances on the stages of jazz festivals in the country and abroad, collaborations with Romanian and foreign jazz musicians (Chris Dahlgren, John Betsch, Christian Lillinger, Jerzy Malek, Jeszensky Gyorgy and many others).

In the past, she was the soloist of the band “Millenium”, with whom she recorded two albums (“Fata sihastră” and “Creștini, Crăciunul a sosit”), and between 2010 and 2013 she was a member of the vocal group “Jazzapella”.

In addition to her stage activity, she also carries out teaching activities, being an associate professor at the National University of Music in Bucharest, jazz section, and an accompanist professor at the “I. L. Caragiale” University of Theatre and Cinematography in Bucharest.
