Nikolaos VLAHAKIS (Greece)

Nikolaos VLAHAKIS was born in Crete (Agios Nikolaos Municipality) in 1967. He studied Philosophy at the Sofia University Sveti Kliment Ohridski, Public Administration at the National School of Public Administration in Athens and completed postgraduate studies in International Relations and Strategy at the Centre Européen de Recherches Internationales et Stratégiques in Brussels (2000-03). He holds a Doctorate in Philosophy. He served as Press and Public Diplomacy Counselor at the Greek Embassies in Tirana, Sofia, Brussels, Permanent Representations of Greece to the EU and NATO, Budapest and Berlin. He currently serves at the Greek Embassy in Bucharest. He has published 5 poetry collections. His poems have been translated into English, French, Bulgarian, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Arabic, Romanian and Slavic-Macedonian. He has participated in international poetry festivals around the world, in Medellin, Colombia, in Pasto and Popayan, Colombia, as well as in Venezuela and Mexico, in Sofia and Bucharest. He also occasionally translates poetry and writes literary criticism.
