Lucian Vasiliu (Romania)
LUCIAN VASILIU (born 1954, Puieşti commune, Vaslui county) debuted in 1981 with the volume Mona-Monada, poems, Junimea publishing house. In 1990 he became a member of the Writers’ Union. Since 2004 he has also been a member of the U.S.R. Chişinău. In 1992 he followed a Cultural Management Internship (Brussels), recommended by Andrei Pleşu, the Minister of Culture. In 2004 he received the Order of “National Cultural Merit” of Romania. Since 2014 he has been the coordinator of the Junimea publishing house (manager since August 2014) and the director-initiator of the magazine Scriptor (since January 15, 2015). He has published over 20 books of poetry, prose, travelogues, etc. Translated into over 20 countries (anthologies, cultural press, author’s books). National awards (selective): “Nicolae Labiş” (1979), “Nichita Stănescu” (2010), National Poetry Congress Award (2011), Audience Award at the Poets’ Tournament (Efes, Turkey, 2012), etc. Nominated three times for the “M. Eminescu” national award (2014, 2015). Declared the writer of the month in February 2018 (project of the Writers’ Union).
