YA LIJUAN (CHINA)

YA LIJUAN is a poet, literary critic, and researcher, and a member of the Chinese Writers Association and the Council of the Shanghai Writers Association. She has been publishing since 1985, and her poetry, interviews, and literary criticism have appeared in numerous magazines and anthologies in China.

She has published four poetry collections: The Unfinished Journey (2019), The Endless River (2020), Fish that Can Think (2021), and Time with Suffixes (2025), as well as the collection of critical essays Interviews with Contemporary Chinese Poets (2025). A literary researcher with extensive experience in the media, she is also the author of more than ten books on historical and cultural subjects.

Fish that Can Think received the Outstanding Work Award from the Shanghai Writers Association, while Time with Suffixes received the Outstanding Poetry Collection Award at the 5th China Annual New Poetry Awards. Interviews with Contemporary Chinese Poets also contributes to the documentation and study of contemporary Chinese poetry.
