TIC PETROȘEL

TIC PETROȘEL

Born in 1958, soloist, singer-songwriter, fighter for human rights, graduate of the Faculty of Psychology, the National Defense University, the War College, specialist in Communication Sciences, Tic Petroșel is, despite the discretion that characterizes him, the kind of skilled speaking artist, who knows how to entertain his audience with a brilliant musical speech. For him, professionalism is not just a technique, it is rather an attitude towards music, towards the artistic act, it is the ability to discover new meanings in what he sings every time he goes on stage. He believes that being a folkist means propagating the truth, seeking to express the problems of the common people, educating, offering poetry, sharing smiles and hope. He became known with ”Brumariada”, songs based on the lyrics of Emil Brumaru, songs inspired by the old… and tender poems of the well-known poet. Tic Petroșel does not hesitate to resort to other musical genres, such as jazz, for example. True, rather ironically, Tic Petroșel attracts spheres of healthy humor like a magnet, using his own acting talent. In fact, one of his great friends, George Stanca, wrote: ”I became your friend and I never knew where you came from? Who are you, what do you basically do? To me, you seem like a bohemian who can’t get enough of bohemians. That’s why I love you as a great artist. Because you are. Composer, poet, guitarist and what a guitarist!” Tic Petroșel values the spontaneity of creation, the responsibility of the performer-composer, because folk also means a man and a guitar.
