Simona Kessler studied German and English literature and is a graduate of the Bucharest University. After graduation she worked as a teacher, then for ten years she was a text editor at Meridane Art Publishing House in Bucharest and also translated art books from Romanian into German. Simona Kessler started as a literary agent in 1991, from 1992 to 1994 she was the manager of the local GPA office, and in 1994 she established the first independent literary agency in Romania. The experience of 35 years in the Romanian publishing industry enables Kessler to provide an accurate expertise of the market. She contributed to several studies on the Romanian book market, the most exhaustive one being published by France Editions. In 1992 she attended the Stanford Publishing Course and over the years she has been invited to hold numerous speeches on copyright at home and abroad.

Over the past 25 years Kessler managed to build an impressive client list including over 150 major US, UK, Canadian, West European and Japanese publishers and literary agencies represented exclusively in the Romanian territory. The agency represents children books and philosophy, classics of the 20th century and contemporary literature, fiction and non-fiction alike, there are more than 10.000 contracts signed via the agency, accounting for about 11.500 titles published in Romanian language in two decades and a half.
