ROSANA ACQUARONI (SPAIN)

ROSANA ACQUARONI (Madrid, 1964) is a poet and academic. She holds a degree in Hispanic Philology and a PhD in Applied Linguistics. She teaches Spanish as a foreign language at the Complutense Centre for Spanish Language Teaching (CCEE), Complutense University of Madrid, and is the author of teaching materials and a trainer of teachers of Spanish as a foreign language.

She has published numerous poetry collections, including Del mar bajo los puentes (1988), which received an Honourable Mention at the Adonais Poetry Prize; El jardín navegable (1990; second edition, 2017); Cartografía sin mundo (1995), winner of the Cáceres Patrimonio Mundial Poetry Prize; Lámparas de arena (2000); Discordia de los dóciles (2011); La casa grande (2018), winner of the 2019 Book of the Year Award for Poetry from the Madrid Booksellers’ Association; and 18 ciervas (2023).

The story that inspired La casa grande was featured in the first episode, “Preguntan por ti”, of the podcast De eso no se habla, which received a Special Mention at the 2020 Ondas Awards.
