OLIMPIU NUȘFELEAN (ROMANIA)

OLIMPIU NUȘFELEAN is a poet, fiction writer, essayist, and cultural journalist, and editor-in-chief of the literary magazine Mișcarea literară in Bistrița. He graduated from the Faculty of Philology in Cluj-Napoca in 1973 and is a member of the Romanian Writers’ Union and PEN Romania.

He made his literary debut with poetry in Echinox in 1971, followed by his first book, the novel La marginea visului (Dacia Publishing House, 1980). His work is featured in numerous anthologies and reference works, including the General Dictionary of Romanian Literature, published by the Romanian Academy.

He has published poetry, fiction, and essays, including Poziția ființei (1982), Piatra soarelui (1987), Libertate de noapte (1995), Focul irevocabil (2000), Eu, celălalt (2004), Poeme pentru cei care citesc în liniște (2009), Spiritul sau strigătul (2012), Să furi raiul cu ajutorul cuvîntului (2014), Unde așezăm plînsul copilului? (2020), Ultima zi a Peștișorului de aur (2021), Om în mers (2022), În liniștea fricii (2024), and Sfîrșitul salvat (2025).

He has received several awards from the Cluj Branch of the Romanian Writers’ Union, as well as distinctions from literary magazines and national literary festivals.
