NICULINA OPREA
Niculina Oprea is a poet and translator who was born on the 5th of March 1957 in Melinesti, county Romania. She is licensed in Law. She is a member of PEN Club Romania, the Romanian Writers’ Union Niculina Oprea lives in Bucharest and Timisoara. She made her debut in 1974 with poetry in the supplement of the daily newspaper Înainte from Craiova and then in the Ramuri magazine under the name of Ianina Prelcu. She has published many books of poetry and essays in Romanian and other languages. She translated 11 books into Romanian. Her poems appeared in translation in 14 countries and appeared in diverse anthologies in Romania and abroad. Her books have been awarded several prizes. Some of her volumes of poetry were translated into Turkish and German. She poetry has been translated into several languages and she has taken part in several international poetry festivals (France, Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Israel, Turkey).
