NICULINA OPREA

NICULINA OPREA (b. 1957,  Melinești, Dolj County) is a poet and translator. She is licensed in Law and a member of the Writers’ Union of Romania, where she lives. She is an Honorary Member of PEN Turkey. Her poems have been translated in over thirteen languages such as French, English, German, Spanish (Catalan and Castilian), Turkish, Polish, Bulgarian, Serbian, Albanian, Chinese, Japanese and Telugu, Arab and published in various journals and anthologies abroad.

Poetry books:  În apele Akheronului  ( In The Akheron’s Waters, 1994), Trecerea  (The Passage, 1996), Sub tirania tăcerii ( Under The Tiranny of the Silence, 2000), Litanii la marginea memoriei (Litanies At The Edge of the Memory, 2002), Aproape negru (Almost Black, 2004 and 2017) La vară, tot tu vei fi aceea  ( Next Summer You Will Be The Same,  2004), Les Guérisons imaginaires, (2007); Viețile noastre și vieţile altora ( Our Lives and The Lives of Others, 2008 and 2017), Rădăcini peste praguri (Roots over Thresholds,  poetic anthology, 2016),  Armura de gală (2018). Her writings have received some important litrerary prizes: “AD-VISUM” Poetry Award for the book Almost Black, 2005; the “Naaman” Award for Culture (2011), “Dionysos Solomos” Award (2011), The Poet of the Year Award granted by IAPWA “PEGASIˮ ( 2015) and “Ӧzkan Mert” Award (2018).
