NICULINA OPREA (b. 1957, Melinești, Dolj County) is a poet and translator. She is licensed in Law and a member of the Writers’ Union of Romania, where she lives. She is an Honorary Member of PEN Turkey. Her poems have been translated in over thirteen languages such as French, English, German, Spanish (Catalan and Castilian), Turkish, Polish, Bulgarian, Serbian, Albanian, Chinese, Japanese and Telugu, Arab and published in various journals and anthologies abroad.

Her writings have received some important litrerary prizes: “AD-VISUM” Poetry Award for the book Almost Black, 2005; the “Naaman” Award for Culture (2011), “Dionysos Solomos” Award (2011), The Poet of the Year Award granted by IAPWA “PEGASIˮ ( 2015) and “Ӧzkan Mert” Award (2018).
