NICOLETA POPA (b. 1973, Pitești) graduated the Faculty of Administrative Science and Communication at the Constantin Brâncoveanu University, Piteşti with a thesis on Emil Cioran. She has been a member of the Writersʼ Union of Romania since 2002. Between 1992 and 1994 she has audited (without being a student) the lectures held by the professors: Gabriel Liiceanu, Andrei Pleșu and Nicolae Manolescu. During this period she has collaborated with the Ora newspaper. She also collaborated with the following magazines: Calende, Argeş, Contrapunct, Interval. In 2017 she was the editor-in-chief and producer of cultural television programs for Absolut TV in Pitești. She is currently a curator at the Golești Museum. She published volumes like: Autorul este plecat în weekend (The author is gone on weekends), Calende Publishing House, Piteşti, 1997; Egoismul de rigoare (The Egoism of Rigor), Paralela 45 Publishing House, 2001; Animal de Povară (The Burden Animal), Paralela 45 Publishing House, 2007, Pitești), Fragmente din inima mea (Fragments of My Heart), Brumar Publishing House, 2009; Solutidinea e țara mea (Solitude is my country), Adenium Publishing House, 2014 (Prize for Excellency in Culture granted by the Direction for Culture and Heritage of Argeş County). In 2019 she organized the International Poetry Day event at the Golești Manor (at the Golești Museum), where several Romanian poets participated. Her poetry appeared in collective volumes such as Urmașele lui Novalis, (Barbulescu Publishing House, Munich, 1999) and Arheologie Generală (Paralela 45 Publishing House, 2000).
