MINA DECU (b. April 15, 1983, Craiova), Master in Philosophy and European Studies, former teacher of Social Studies Humanities, bookseller, editor, currently translator, poet and coordinator of non-formal activities at a school where she teaches creative writing. Her debut book, Desprindere, Charmides Publishing, 2018, was awarded the National Prize for Poetry “Mihai Eminescu” Opus Primum; the “Tânărul Poet of the Year 2018” at the Young Writers Gala; The Prize for Debut, at the National Poetry Festival “Colocviile George Coșbuc”; Prize for editorial debut in the 2018, at the APLER Gala.

The second book of poems, Tagliatelle allegro was published in 2024 by Cartier Publishing House, Rotonda collection and was nominated for the “George Bacovia” National Award, Poetry Book of the Year 2024.

Mina Decu has participated in various festivals and events of poetry and literature. She has published poetic texts in Romanian and in translation (English, French and Hungarian) in several anthologies and literary magazines, both in the country and abroad. The English translation of Desprindere by Anca Roncea and Rajnesh Chakrapani, won the America Pen/Heim Translation Award, and will go on to to be published in the United States.
