MARIA PILCHIN

MARIA PILCHIN (b. 1982, Răuțel, Fălești county, currently the Republic of Moldova; lived in Ukraine until the age of 9) is a writer, TV presenter of “Readings à la carte” on Moldova 1, marketing director at ARC Publishing House, literary secretary of the Mihai Eminescu National Theatre in Chișinău and researcher at the B.P. Hasdeu Municipal Library Department of Study and Research. She worked as a social media journalist at Radio Free Europe Moldova from 2018 to 2020, director of the Chișinău Municipal Library, Central Library from 2019 to 2021, taught World Literature at the Department of Foreign Languages and Literature, Moldova State University, from 2005 to 2018.

Maria Pilchin’s areas of work include poetry, prose, literary history and criticism, theatre criticism, essay, cultural studies, cultural marketing, socio-cultural journalism and social media marketing. Her work has been awarded several literary prizes in Romania and in the Republic of Moldova. Her poems and prose have been translated into French, English, Spanish, Russian, Greek, Ukrainian, Catalan, Azerbaijani and Turkish.
