Lucian Vasiliu

Lucian Vasiliu (b. 1954, Puieşti, Vaslui) published his first book, Mona-Monada, in 1981. In 1990, he becomes a member of the Romania Writersʼ Union. Since 2004, he has been also member of the Writers Union of Kishinev, Moldavia. In 1992, he went to Bruxelles for a cultural management internship with a recommendation from Andrei Pleşu, Minister of Culture. In 2014, he became the manager of the Junimea Publishing House and founding editor of the Scriptor journal (from January 2015). Lucian Vasiliu has published more than 20 books of poems, prose, travel diary, etc. His books have been translated in more than 20 countries (anthologies, cultural magazines, author books). National awards (selection): “Nicolae Labiş” (1979), “Nichita Stănescu” (2010), The Award of the National Congress of Poetry (2011), The Audience Award at the Poets Tournament (Efes, Turkey, 2012), etc. Three-times nominee for the National Award “M. Eminescu” (2014, 2015, 2017). In February 2018 he was selected “Writer of the month” (a project of Romanian Writersʼ Union).
