LORETA POPA (ROMANIA)

LORETA POPA is a writer, cultural journalist, and PhD candidate at the Faculty of Letters and Arts, “Lucian Blaga” University of Sibiu. Her doctoral research focuses on the conferences of the Sibiu International Theatre Festival, exploring them through the relationship between critical discourse, cultural memory, and reflection on the performing arts.

She has over 30 years of experience in Romanian cultural journalism and has contributed to publications such as Jurnalul Național, Evenimentul Zilei, Cronica Română, and Revista Cariere. Since 2017, she has worked at the National Museum of Romanian Literature in the fields of public relations and cultural communication.

Her first book, Scrisori pentru Ema (Semne Publishing House, 2009), marked her literary debut. She has since published prose, essays, and poetry, including Scrisori de dragoste. Astăzi, Acum and Povestea Lupului Albastru (Mateiaș Publishing House, 2010), Cântecul culorii (Neverland Publishing House, 2011), 33 (Tracus Arte, 2015), a new edition of Scrisori pentru Ema (For You Publishing House, 2017), Simplu (Lumina Tipo, 2024), and Salt înainte (Eikon Publishing House, 2025).
