IOAN MATIUŢ
IOAN MATIUŢ (b. 1956, in Chişineu-Criş, Arad county) is a writer, journalist and publisher. A graduate in journalism of the “Aurel Vlaicu” University, Arad.
A marked presence in Arad’s cultural life: public readings, symposia, TV shows, book launches, articles in the local press. Chief-editor of Monitorul Cultural, editor at Arca cultural magazine and owner of the Mirador Publishing House, where a series of books from valuable writers have been published.
His poems are translated in English, French, German, Serbian, Slovene, Arabian, Italian, Swedish, Spanish and Hungarian, Polish. As a poet, he was awarded prizes from the Writers’ Union, The Association of the Literary Press and Publishing Houses of Romania (A.P.L.E.R.), the Arad Town Hall, EUROPOEZIA (Braila 2020), the Convorbiri Literare and Semne magazines and also the Princess Margareta of Romania Foundation.
He has published the following poetry books: stâlpi de sare/salt pillars (1996), umbre /shadows (1999), priviri/gazes (2003) (all printed by Mirador Publishing House), déjà vu, (Dacia, 2005, Hungarian edition, AB Art, Bratislava, 2010), între ceruri/between the skies (Brumar Publishing House, 2009), respiră să nu uiţi/breathe so that you wouldn’t forget (Tipo Publishing House, Moldova, 2011), fuga din urmă/the last run (Tracus Arte Publishing House, 2013) după perete/behind the wall (Mirador,2015), toate acestea/all of these (english edition, Casa Româno – Chineză Publishing House (2016), panic counterattack, (Tracus Arte, 2020), Vederi din mirador / Views from the viewpoint (Mirador, 2023). Also published in several poetry anthologies.
