
EVELYNE CROITORU
Evelyne Maria Croitoru is a poet and an essay writer born in Braşov. She first expressed her literary talent during the high school years, when, under the guidance of the writer George Bălăiţă, she already enjoyed literary success at a national level and became an active member of the literary club ”George Bacovia” in Bacău. Her high admiration for Blaga, Eminescu, Rilke, Baudelaire, Verlaine, Poe, instilled in her heart during those years, was to become a lifetime company, just as classical music she had been listening to in her childhood, was to become her second home. A graduate in the Sciences of Communication and Public Relations, with a master’s degree in Communication and Public Relations, she led the Department for Communication and Public Relations within Metrorex for ten years, setting her cultural imprint by means of several unique events (”Festival of Classical Music at the Subway”, four editions, between 2012-2016 ; ”Urban Readings” – ten thousand books offered at the subway during the period 2009-2014, a.s.o.)
Poetry volumes: Fighter Pilots published by VINEA Publishing House in 2011 and republished in a bilingual edition: Romanian – English, in 2017, by Anamarol Publishing House; Poppy Secrets, published by EIKON Publishing House in 2017; A Coffee with Me, published by EIKON Publishing House in 2019 and republished in 2020 by PIM Publishing House. Collective volumes: over thirty volumes of poetry and prose; recently, in the collective poetry volume At Night, The Statues grow young, NEUMA Publishing House, 2020. Poems and essays published during the period 1992-2020, in literary journals: Morning Star, Literary Conversations, Neuma, Stained Glass, Pro Saeculum – Light, Poetry, The Tribune, The Banquet, Dedicated to Eminescu, Miraculous Bird Portal, Blue Sky, My Dear Bucharest, Argeș, Low Danube and others. Since 2009, she has been collaborating with the academic environment, guiding the students who are directing their steps towards a career in public relations. She has been submitting numerous presentations, has participated to conferences and round tables has taken part into numerous events, sometimes with allocutions, at the University of Bucharest, the Academy for Economical Studies Bucharest, the Polytechnical University in Bucharest, the Academy of Scientists in Bucharest, the Museum of the Romanian Literature, the National Music University in Bucharest, the National Library of Romania, the National Opera of Bucharest, the Metropolitan Library of Bucharest, the Parliament House, colleges, cultural associations, monastic establishments. In 2012, she founded the Public Communication Platform ”Contemporary Attitudes”, which has been promoting cultural events, writers, artists. In 2010, she was nominalized at the ”Celebrities Gala – Successful Women”, at the section Culture Promotion – Literature/Poetry (a gala organized by the Romanian Commerce and Industry Chamber). She won prizes and excellency diplomas. She has been in the jury for different literary contests, and has been interviewed for radio and TV broadcastings and for different magazines. An active member in several literary clubs and a collaborator to several literary journals.
