
DAN MIRCEA CIPARIU
Dan Mircea Cipariu (born on September 7, 1972, Bucharest), a graduate of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication Sciences, the University of Bucharest, is a writer, journalist and cultural project manager. He made his debut in the literary press in 1988. He published his first volume of poems entitled Hai să ne-ntâlnim pe site sâmbătă seara (Let Us Meet Online on Saturday Evening) (Libra Publishing House) in 1999. In 2007 he was awarded the prize of the Bucharest Writers’ Association for his volume of poetry entitled Tsunami (Brumar Publishing House, 2006). In 2008 he initiated and coordinated the project “Writers on the Royal Way”. He has been coordinating the project “The Poetry and Jazz Marathon” since 2009. During the interval 2011-2019, he coordinated the project “The Young Writers’ Gala/The Poetry Book of the Year”. He is the founder and president of the “Euro Culturart” Association, which owns a gallery dedicated to the young visual artists in Europe – “Atelier 030202”, coordinated by the visual artist Mihai Zgondoiu. He is the editor of www.agențiadecarte.ro, a virtual space which discusses the latest cultural events – both editorial and artistic ones. He is the president of Opera Scrisă.Ro, a copyright management society. His volume entitled Singurătatea vine pe facebook (Solitude Comes via Facebook), published in 2012 at Tracus Arte, Bucharest, is appreciated by the editor Cosmin Perța as “one of the best poetry books of 2012 – and not only of 2012”. In 2020 he received his PhD degree from the University of Bucharest, the Doctoral Program of the Faculty of Letters, for the dissertation “Tipare ale imaginii poetice” (Patterns of Poetic Imagery) (PhD advisor: Professor Silviu Angelescu, PhD). He has been teaching creative writing courses within the framework of the University of Belgrad and the University of Novi Sad, of the programs organized by the Arad Cultural Center and the Association of Literary Publications and Publishing Houses in Romania, as well as at the National Museum of Romanian Literature in Bucharest. In 2022 he has published the volume entitled “META VERS”, accompanied by seven drawings by Mihai Zgondoiu, at Vellant Publishing House.
