Chris Tănăsescu

Chris Tănăsescu is a poet that launched books, performed, and received awards in the US, UK, Vietnam, Australia, Western and Eastern Europe, and beyond. He is the incoming Altissia Chair in Digital Humanities at UC Louvain, professor of digital humanities at University of Ottawa and Asymptote Journal’s Editor-at-Large for Romania and Moldova. His research and creative work—under the alias of, and together with the cross-artform group MARGENTO—combine his interest in graph theory, natural language processing, and performance. Chris is the author, translator, or editor of over 25 books and has recently launched “US” Poets Foreign Poets / Noi poeti “americani” poeti straini, a computationally-assembled poetry anthology in algorithmic translation (FrACTtalia, 2018).
