CATHERINE PONT-HUMBERT (FRANCE)

CATHERINE PONT-HUMBERT is a poet, writer, literary critic, and performer. For many years, she was a producer at France Culture, where she produced in-depth interviews for the programme À voix nue, as well as documentaries. She is the author of essays, prose works, and poetry collections.

Her publications include Carnets de Montréal (Éditions du Passage, 2016), Légère est la vie parfois (poetry, Éditions Jacques André, 2020), Les Lits du monde (poetry, La Rumeur libre, 2021), Noir printemps (poetry, La Rumeur libre, 2023), Quand les mots ne tiennent qu’à un fil. Une épopée poétique (La Tête à l’envers, 2025), winner of the Vénus Khoury-Ghata Prize and the François Coppée Prize of the Académie française, and Ce que les mots font aux choses (La Rumeur libre, 2026).

She edited the anthology La force des mots ou les pouvoirs de la littérature, published by the French PEN Club and bringing together contributions from 60 writers (Éditions Oxybia, 2025).

A regular guest at poetry festivals in France and abroad, she gives numerous musical readings of her own work. She has been a member of the editorial board of the journal Apulée since its founding and is also part of the team of the Sète Poetry Festival and the Executive Committee of the French PEN Club.
