ANUSH KOCHARYAN (ARMENIA)

ANUSH KOCHARYAN is an Armenian poet, fiction writer, and producer. She holds a Master’s degree in Journalism from Yerevan State University and is an alumna of the U.S. Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP). She is a member of PEN Armenia Center and is represented by ARI Literary and Talent Agency.

She has received several international literary awards, including the EURODRAM – European Network for Drama in Translation Prize (2014), Second Prize at the Nuremberg State Theater Literary Awards (2015), and the Poetry Prize at Yerevan Book Fest (2018). Her work has been translated into English, German, French, Georgian, Portuguese, Swedish, and Norwegian.

Kocharyan has participated in numerous international literary events, including the Leipzig Book Fair (2025, 2026), the Frankfurt Book Fair (2024), the Uppsala International Literature Festival (2024), the Berlin International Literature Festival (2023), and the Black Sea Lit Project in Romania (2023). She has also held literary residencies at the Literarisches Colloquium Berlin (LCB) and in Leipzig.

Her debut poetry collection, Wild Grass (2022), explores war trauma and post-war experiences from a female perspective. Her poems have also appeared on the European poetry platform Versopolis. Her debut novel, forthcoming in autumn 2026, explores post-Soviet life in Armenia, independence, war, collective trauma, and the evolving identity of her generation from a distinctly feminist perspective.
