
ANNABEL VILLAR
Annabel Villar (Montevideo, Uruguay). Poet and cultural activist, lives in Spain since 2002. Founding member of Liceo Poético de Benidorm. Director of Poetry Collection “Azul” and International Poetry Festival “Benidorm & Costa Blanca” (FIPBECO). Founding Member of Students Academy of Contemporary Art (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Chair Nr. 6 “Gabriela Mistral”). She has been included in several international poetry anthologies and has participated in poetry festivals around the world.
Among many others, she has received the following awards: Third Poetry Prize of the “IV Poetry Contest, Short Story and Photography Crossing Borders” of the Laboratory of Social and Cultural Anthropology of the University of Almería, in 2010; 2nd Prize XVI Poetry Festival City of Aspe, Alicante, Spain, in 2015; Khathak World Literary Award, Dhaka, Bangladesh, 2019. She is the author of: Viaje al Sur del Sur/Journey to the South of the South (E Germania Publishing house, Spain, 2015); Cantar la Vida/Singing Life (Aspe, Alicante, 2015); Meditación/Meditation (Enkuadres Publishing House, Spain (bilingual Spanish-English, 2017); Claustrophobia y vértigo/Cluastrophobia and Vertigo (Enkuadres, Spain – bilingual Spanish-English, 2018).
